M31, with Carl Zeiss 300mm Sonnar

 

 

Even though this is just a 20 Minute exposure on E200 film, I am quite pleased

with the result. This shot was made with a 300mm f/4 lens and two of the dusk lanes within the galaxy

are captured. The "stripes" you can see on this picture are artifacts from my scanner.

Teleskope: Meade LX 200 at f/10 - used for guiding only

Reducer: none

Camera: Pentax ES II - piggybacked on telescope

Lens: Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 300mm f/4

f / Stop: f/4

Film: Kodak Elitechrome 200

Exposure: 20 minutes

Conditions: good
