M31, the Andromeda Galaxy

The Andromeda Galaxy M31 is the biggest of our neighbour galaxies.
Under dark skies it can be seen with the nacked eye.
I've tried to shoot it with my 500mm lens, but unfortunatly missed the correct focus.
This shot was made with a 135mm lens at f/4.

Teleskope: Meade LX 200 at f/10 - used for guiding only
Reducer: none
Camera: Pentax ES II - piggybacked on telescope
Lens: Tamron 135 mm
f / Stop: f/4
Film: Kodak Elitechrome 200
Exposure: 30 minutes
Conditions: good
