M27, the Dumbbell Nebulae

 

 

I have to apologize, M27 (the red object close to the center) is VERY small in this picture.

I was observing it through my 10" scope and was so fascinated, that I decided to go for it

even with very short focal lenght (135mm). To my surprise I was able to record

something of M27 on the slide film. Big future target for prime focus photography!!!

 


Equipment:

Teleskope: Meade LX 200 at f/10 - used for guiding only

Reducer: none

Camera: Pentax ES II - piggybacked on telescope

Lens: Tamron 135 mm

f / Stop: f/4

Film: Kodak Elitechrome 200

Exposure: 30 minutes

Conditions: good

Date: August 25th, 2000
