h & chi with Carl Zeiss 300mm at f/4

 

 

H & Chi in Perseus - this double cluster is a very fine object even with small scopes.

I took the picture on 35mm film with a medium format lens attached to my Nikon F3 camera.

H & Chi was about 20 degrees above the horizon, but conditions were good.

 


Equipment:

Teleskope: Meade LX 200 at f/10 - used for guiding only

Reducer: none

Camera: Pentax ES II - piggybacked on telescope

Lens: Carl Zeiss Jena 300mm f/4

f / Stop: f/4

Film: Kodak Elitechrome 200

Exposure: 20 minutes

Conditions: good
